Lonely Guanaco

* Lama Guanicoe
* Torres del Paine; Patagonia; Chile
* I was so impressed that morning by the very first beams of the sun lightening these huge faces of Patagonian mountains, that I even did not remarked the lonely Guanaco, standing few meters from me. This adult male was actually the sentinel of a larger group hidden behind. It is a typical behaviour of dominant male to stay alone on a top of a hill, looking carefully everywhere, ready to alert the others by a specific call, in the case a Pumas would come around. The Pumas generally hunt during the last hours of the night or just before sunrise.
