The Jaguar of Santa Rosa

3 months searching for jaguars (Panthera onca) in Costa Rica. I had covered some 800km and lost about 10kg in weight, but with no result. So when 2 days before leaving the country, I found huge jaguar tracks leading to my camera trap, I was breathless. 5 minutes later I was opening the trap and couldn’t believe my eyes. There he was. While the situation is very difficult in some other national parks, Jaguars are making a come back in Santa Rosa National Park, Costa Rica. Image taken with a camera trap.
