Earth 4 Orangutans is an international fundraising and awareness campaign to support The Orangutan Haven and Wildlife Conservation Centre. The Orangutan Haven and Wildlife Conservation Education Centre will be the first of its kind. Its development will achieve a number of important conservation goals vital for a more positive and sustainable future for Northern Sumatra's people, wildlife and environment

The Orangutan Haven will provide a long-term refuge for un-releasable individuals currently residing at the SOCP’s orangutan quarantine centre. SOCP has confiscated more than 270 illegal pet orangutans. Initially these come to SOCP’s quarantine centre for health checks as well as to allow the young ones to become old enough to be released. Over 190 of these orangutans have been released back into the wild at one of the two SOCP specialist reintroduction centres. These are effectively the founders of 2 entirely new populations in forests where this species was previously extinct.
