The Seychelles Islands Foundation is a public trust established by government under the Seychelles Island Foundation Decree of 1979. The Foundation manages and protects the World Heritage Sites of Aldabra and Vallee de Mai and has the President of Seychelles as patron. The Board of trustees, appointed by the President, has 14 members, including not less than five representing organizations concerned with the conservation of wildlife and natural history or national academics of science.
The Vision
The SIF is a leading environmental organization dedicated to ensuring that Seychelles World Heritage sites are well-managed protected areas where conservation, research, education and nature appreciative and protective tourism are sustainably balanced and financially viable.
The Mission
The mission of the Foundation is to manage and conserve the natural life and to initiate and instigate scientific research into such natural life at the two Seychelles World Heritage sites of Vallee De Mai and Aldabra.
